Professional Experience
Ms. Mello has gained experience through a variety
of projects over the past twenty-five years. She
launched LJM Design Group in 1993. Her work includes
municipal, institutional, resort, commercial, and
multi-residential projects that have involved master
plans, feasibility studies, site and land planning,
landscape design, water quality improvements and
environmental enhancement programming.
Her recent projects include the West End Pavilion
for the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District,
Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Dayton, the Highway 50
Binwall Replacement for NDOT, and the I-80/Highway
89 Double Roundabout. Areas of expertise encompass
an in-depth knowledge of the local and state agency
process, regional and resort community design, in
addition to the use of native plant material. Ms.
Mello has hands-on experience in client representation
and presentation to a variety of government agencies
throughout the Northern Nevada and the Sierra Region
of California. Ms. Mello is very involved in the
community with a wide variety of interests including
spearheading the formation of the Truckee Trails
Foundation, and the Town of Truckee Public Arts
Master Plan. She is a member of the American Society
of Landscape Architects. |

Professional Experience
Ms. Green’s 20 years of professional experience
include all facets of landscape architecture including
municipal, institutional, commercial and residential
projects. Prior to joining LJM Design Group, Ms.
Green has been involved with design and supervision
of municipal projects for the Baumberg Tract,
in the City of Hayward, South Beach Gateway in
Crescent City, and the Tamalpais Community Corridor
Study in Marin County. Common to each of these
projects were identifying constraints, proposing
solutions for access trails, controlled parking,
pedestrian street crossing, habitat restoration,
environmental considerations, property ownership,
gateway treatments and interpretive signage. Other
related projects include SR87, the Guadalupe Parkway
in San Jose, with others.
Ms. Green has
a particular interest in restoration and planning
projects, and areas of expertise include plant
selection for specific regions as well as leading
community forum for distillation of public ideas.
She has led public forums for consensus building
and planning commission presentations. Her academic
and civic experience includes teaching Horticulture
and Landscape Design for San Francisco City College
and UC Berkeley extension. Ms. Green served on
the Advisory Board for College of Marin, in addition
to three years on the Tam Valley design review
board in Marin County. Her work has been published
in Northern California Home and Garden magazine
as well as the San Francisco Chronicle and the
Marin Independent Journal.
